Step-by-Step, Chapter 10: Clearing Hell Mode, Farming GB8 and Essences

In Chapter 10 of our step-by-step guide, our target is to effectively farm GB8 using our core units (farmable units as well). Many have asked us previously why can’t they farm Giant’s Keep with good efficiency using similar lineup, I always throw them back this question: are your stats enough to handle them? Every step in our guides plays a very crucial role in your progress and following the regimen is key. If GB8 is too hard to clear right now, we strongly suggest you to go back and farm GB7 until you achieve the required stats shown in our guide below. Please do not be too hasty in clearing higher floors because everything takes time and process.

Simultaneous to farming runes, we will clear all the Hell stages of Scenario Map. it also means that after this, we can now focus more on Dungeons and next, Trial of Ascension. As we inch closer to Veromos fusion, we will tackle the effective ways of farming essences.

Now let’s start!

 

Farming Giant’s Keep B8 (GB8)

GB8 is a Wind stage which means Lapis needs to be a little more tanky to handle the Boss and wave attacks. A good option is to change her build or re-rune and adapt to the situation. Instead of that Crit Damage slot 4, you can swap an HP% stat to make her a little bit tanky  (SPD/HP%/ATK%). Of course, once we finish Veromos fusion we will swap her out to efficiently farm GB8 (To be discussed next chapter). Your utility units and supports also need a little more upgrade with better substats on 1/3/5 runes. Check out the comparison between GB7 and GB8 stats of the same monsters.

Lapis: Vampire / Revenge (SPD / HP% / ATK%)

Like we stated last chapter, be more selective on 1/3/5 runes and have a strict requirement on your substats before you equip and upgrade them.

Clearing Hell Mode

SW Chiruka Hell

Finally we will clear the last batch of Scenario Hell Mode. As a reference, this is a good way to measure the rune quality of your monsters, better quality translates to higher difficulty clearance. You can start with Aiden Forest using your core units and please take note that you may have to rotate some monsters to avoid element disadvantages. Always bring Darion and Belladeon to sustain your team.

Remember that the difficulty significantly increases as you move to the next Hell Map, making Chiruka Hell the hardest area. You may have to use the Rep monster of your friends to clear hell stages but we will also try the rotation of Lapis, Bernard, Shannon, Belladeon and Darion. Clearance reward gives you free 30 crystals for each Map location, so 4 areas give you a total of 120 crystals.

 

Farming Essences With Your GB7 Team

Your Giant’s core team can take you places in these 5 element halls. How far can you go with this lineup?

While you can now farm GB7 efficiently, do you know that you can also clear B7 of every element halls? sometimes even B8 but on a longer clear time. Below are the reference stats:

 

Let’s take a look at each and decide our strategy:

Hall of Light

The Boss has immense DEF stat so it is important to bring DEF reducing debuffs and DEF ignore skills (ex. Belladeon, Darion, Lushen, etc.). Units that can apply continuous damage also helps clearing the stage faster because the damage is definite. Most importantly, your team should have high HP because the wave crystals ignore defense on its attacks.

Hall of Dark

Group healer/cleanser is advised to easily recover from continuous damage applied by the enemy. While it is also important to bring SPD debuffers, an AOE attack bar reducer plays a very important role to slow down enemy turns. Using your GB7 team would suffice and easily clear B7.

Hall of Fire

In this hall, cleansers and high resistance monsters are recommended to remove bombs. You can also tank the damage if your monsters have high HP, which is usually okay if you use your GB7 core team. ATB reduction skills from Lapis is very important here to control enemies.

Hall of Water

The boss from this hall has a very high HP pool. Out of all the element halls, this takes the longest to clear using your GB7 core team. You may still want to use the same lineup or switch in continuous damage dealer (Veromos, Decamaron, etc.) to boost up your clear time. The team also needs to kill the boss faster because it gains ATK the longer the battle gets.

Hall of Wind

This hall is known for its recovery crystal so monsters with unrecoverable skill are good additions (Colleen, Lushen, etc.). You may still use your GB7 lineup but it could lead to longer clear time. While there is minimal damage threat to your team unlike Fire and Dark Hall, it is advised to focus on bringing in a full damage team.

Hall of Magic

Easiest of all Element Halls. With your B7 team you can clear the dungeon in less than 1 min 30 sec. Group healer is advised to keep your sustain.

Getting Essence Rewards from Challenge Mission 4 – Daily Dungeon Tips

Don’t forget to clear this challenge quest to get a large amount of Mid and High essences. You need to auto 7F to claim the rewards with High grade essences.

SW Challenge 4

  • Essences (High) x10 for each element
  • Essences (Mid) x20 for each element
  • Essence of Magic (Mid) x60

 

Game Progression Guide

Key Monsters to Level Up:

  • Monsters needed to fuse Veromos
  • Prepare in advance your 5* fodders for upcoming Veromos 6* Evolution. Use Elucia and Roid as fodder.
  • Argen, Akia, Mikene, Kumae should be 5* Max

Resource Management

  • Keep and eye on 6* Hero and Legend runes on Magic Shop. Buy when it fits the desired stats.
  • Sell 4* Rare runes if they are slots 1/3/5. Keep usable 4* Rare runes with ideal stats from slot 2/4/6. Keep 5* usable runes.
  • Remember to collect guaranteed crystals from defeating your rivals every time they are up.
  • Rune power-up priority: Slots 2,4 and 6. Keep 4* and 5* runes to +12. Save Mana Stones for 6* runes.
  • Only power-up runes to +12 if they are at least 4* and with good stats/substats.
  • Collect rewards from Events, they give plenty of resources.
  • Continue upgrading your Sanctum of Energy, Mysterious Plant and Sky Tribe Totem.

Monster Leveling:

  • Use your friend or mentor’s Rep Monster to gain higher Exp. Ideally paired with 1 of your specific monsters to level up.
  • Higher difficulty stages (Hell mode) give more exp.
  • *Note: Dungeons give less amount of experience compared to scenario stages.

    I am confused, it always says Swift runes on shannon but all the pictures have despair, which one am I supposed to use? Thank you.

      Use Despair if you can meet the speed requirement, else Swift. Usually Swift for early game, and Despair mid game. 🙂

    What are you meaning by sell 4* rare on 1/3/5,
    We don’t have rare but hero to farm gb7
    And you say right after upgrade 4* if good substats on 2/4/6 I don’t get it honestly ..

    Delphoi can be a viable +1 but Darion is more efficient. Her heal has similar contribution to Darion’s damage mitagation, but Darion has DEF + ATK break and deals more damage. Just aim to get Veromos first and 6* him. 🙂 Then follow the standard team comp.
