I. Dungeon Details

Raid Beast Type: Wind
Target Rating: A+, S, SS, SSS (depending on your total damage)

Drops:

  • Runes (Fight, Determination, Enhance, Accuracy, Tolerance)
  • Enchanted Gems and Grindstones
  • Whirling Wind Crystals
  • Condensed Magic Crystals
  • Pure Magic Crystals
  • Rune Piece, Rainbowmon, MS, Summoning stone, Shapeshifting Stone

*Note: It is important to defeat the Raid Beast rather than settle for a mediocre run since it gives you more amount of drops and makes your farming efficient. Saves time and energy!

II. Wind Beast Overview

First let’s look at the Wind Beast skill. It is essential to understand the mechanics behind each move so that you can properly create a strategic team against the boss.

Wind Sweep:
Attacks all enemies 2 times using its gigantic body and recovers the HP in proportion to the number of [Electric Schock] effect.

Lightning Roar:
Attacks all enemies 3 times with a furious roar and grants the [Electric Shock] Effect. The damage increases every time the Lightning Roar is used. Electric Shock: The damage you receive will increase under the Electric Shock Effect. The recovery amount you receive will be decreased by 50% and you’ll be inflicted with Continuous Damage proportionate to 10% of your MAX HP every turn. You must reach 100% HP in order to remove the Electric Shock effect and return great damage to the Wind Beast.

*Note: This is the Wind Beast’s signature skill. It is recommended to bring 2 healers to fully heal your team and counterattack with great damage to boss. If you fail to make your HP at 100%, it will receive massive damage and could result to a fatal damage.

*Tip: use vampire runes on your nukers and bring Colleen + 1 more healer (Belladeon, Chasun, Hwahee, etc.)

 Thorn of Despair:
Attacks the enemies in the frontline 2 times with a sharp thorn. The damage increases substantially as the target’s Defense decreases. This attack will target the backline if there are no enemies left in the frontline.

*Tip: you can minimize the damage by placing monsters with high DEF in the frontline (Belladeon, Trevor, Colleen with DEF stats, etc.)

 Swirling Rageful Breath:
Removes all beneficial effects on all enemies and attacks them 6 times with wind breath.

Twisted Body (Passive):
Weakens the effect that inflict damage proportionate to the HP with a twisted power and gains immunity against all harmful effects. The immunity against all harmful effects will be removed during the Groggy State. Additionally, increases the damage received from fire monsters by 50% and increases the damage dealt to water monsters by 50%.

III. Why farm Rift Beasts?

This game content is more for mid to late-game players. Since the latest game update, it is now a growing popularity to farm Rift Beasts in crafting Homunculus and new generation runes, gems and grindstones (Fight, Determination, Enhance, Accuracy, Tolerance).

The rune requirement is quite high, but most importantly you need the right team of monsters for every Rift Beast because each has its own unique attack type and weaknesses.

IV. Getting Started

Leader Skill

Attack power > Crit Rate > Speed > Def > HP

Use Crit Rate lead if your nukers’ CR is below 75%, otherwise it defeats the purpose of landing high damage output even with high attack power. Speed lead is also viable if you are having trouble with Electric Shock. Def lead helps frontline to survive better than HP lead.

Unit Recommendations

Awakened Colleen Summoners War Colleen

She is the backbone of your team that helps sustain via healing and gives a 3-turn attack increase buff. Aside from being a low cooldown 3rd skill, she spams whenever it’s ready allowing perma attack buff on your team.

  • Rune Set

Violent / Guard or Energy or Revenge

*Can also use non-Violent set (to prevent steal turns on your nukers during boss groggy state) recommended only when your team survivability is very stable

VII. Summary and Conclusion

Healers are as important as damage dealers in this dungeon. It is recommended to bring 2 healers that can max your HP to dispel [Electric Shock] effect, else the damage you receive are amplified. When you fully remove the effect, there is a direct return damage to boss. Aside from the rare ones, units that shine in this dungeon are Hwahee, Wind and Fire Homunculus, Trevor, Xiong Fei, Chasun, Colleen and Belladeon. Just keep the minimum HP and DEF requirements for frontline units as stated on recommendations and your will definitely clear the Wind Beast. Important farmable nukers are also discussed such as Raoq and Kahli. With full knowledge about team set-up and runes, you can also get a good clear rating using F2P units.

    New here so not sure.
Why are Trevor’s runes vamp/ rev over vamp/ nem?

Brandia’s second skill no longer provides a shield.

Fire Assassin (Lexy) should be a recommended unit. Her passive reduces damage received as well as healing received, but the healing reduction does NOT stack with the Wind beast’s debuff, so basically you enjoy the upside with no downside.

Why not use water lizardman for lead skill? Reduces incoming damage from wind monsters by 50%.

      1) Kernodon has no leader, his wind dmg reduction is a passive that applies only to himself
      2) As a water type, he is not an ideal damage dealer
      3) He brings no heal, buffs, or debuffs beyond a def break (fairly common)

Water lizard could, theoretically, be used as a VERY early frontliner as his attacks scale to def and he gets 1/2 damage, but he should definitely be the first monster swapped out, ideally for a tanky healer like chasun.
