Dungeons: The only place you can reasonably run Ignicus is DB10. His 2nd Skill’s debuffs makes him a pretty good support monster to safen your runs. However, Spectra is a much safer and easier to skill-up alternative.
Raids: With three useful debuffs on short cooldowns, Ignicus can be a useful debuffer for a starting R1-R3 team. However, despite his decent bulk, he quickly falls off the higher progressed through the stages. His biggest weakness here is the lack of a debuff on his first skill and the fact that he is normally runed despair makes him a pain to build specifically for this area of the game.
ToA: Ignicus offers a good kit for a ToA team, with short cooldowns on his debuffs. You can run him on despair here to take advantage of his AoE skill. Beyond that, the taoist family, Spectra and Aria are much better suited for this, with Ignicus’ only unique selling point among them being his defense break.
PvP: Ignicus’ speed leader skill can be used in PvP as a slightly better Baretta, especially if you’re lacking any alternatives. You can use him in conjunction with Chloe to make sure she’ll get the first move off, or to boost the speed of your fire attackers such as Hwa and Raoq.
- Some accuracy for his debuffs to land is always helpful
- For ToA, there isn’t a need for you to use Ignicus’ leader skill if you are already using Baretta. The 4% difference just isn’t worth it.
Like the rest of the Charger Sharks, Ignicus falls into the category of “decent but with much better alternatives”. There isn’t really an actual need to build him unless you really have no choice, and even then it’s best to just wait for something better. I personally don’t recommend even touching the entire Charger Shark family unless you’re at the point where you have enough resources to build them as side projects.
- Useful 23% Speed Leader Skill for fire monsters
- Decent base HP and Def
- AoE attack and speed debuffs on a short 3 turn cooldown
- 750% multiplier on 3rd Skill
- With a 3-hit 75% chance to def break on his 3rd Skill, there’s a very high chance for it to land
- AoE debuffs only has a 70% chance to land
- Poor base attack makes his 3rd Skill pretty ineffective
- Crit buff on 1st Skill can actually be pretty detrimental if used for ToA
