If you are brand new to Summoners War, you should make sure to understand the following basic tips that will make your game play experience a lot more rewarding.
First 4 Summons
The first 4 summons: Fairy, Hellhound, Vagabond, and Garuda are fixed. Everybody summons them when they first start, and only Vagabond is sort of useless. The other 3 perform very well and can possible carry you to mid-late game with good runes. Thanks Com2us!
Scroll Summoning Expectations
It’s very unlikely that you will summon a 3* from an unknown scroll, and it is also very unlikely that you will summon a 4* or 5* from a Mystical scroll. Don’t fret though, because if you don’t get good summons, a good number of awakened 2* and 3* monsters are strong enough for you to get through most of the game.
Primary Goal
Your first goal to strive for should be to get a monster to 5* with good runes, preferably one that is able to solo “Normal Faimon Volcano 1”. If you can do this, you will be able to gain experience for other monsters quickly later in the game. An early 5* also aids you A LOT in Arena.
Caution: Still retain a full team of 4* monsters. If you feed them all just to make one 5* you will have a very hard time playing.
Crystals
Try to get your first 75 Crystal summon within the first few days of playing. A super early 3* summon helps you a lot in the game. The best use of crystals for beginners is to get the premium pack (750 Crystals) for the 11 mystical scrolls and other items. If you are less patient, go for the 225 Crystals.
Free Crystals: If you want, you can earn free Crystals through some of the gimmicky promotions by Com2us. Go to the event button on the left side of the screen and look for the following ways to earn free Crystals:
- Download advertised games
- Send Facebook invitations to friends
- Finish all daily missions (10 Crystals)
- Defeat the NPC rival in Arena (2 Crystals)
Runes
Runes are the equivalent of gear in other games. Don’t over spend on them early because they will become outdated. Aim for +3 on weaker runes and complete rune sets for the bonus regardless.
Evolving
Evolving your monsters to increase their * level can be done to any monster in the game. In fact, it’s the primary goal of the game. You need to hit the MAX level of each * before you can sacrifice monsters to evolve it to the next star. You need to sacrifice the same star monster to another monster of the same star level in order to evolve it.
Awakening
Awakening powers up your monster significantly and often gives your monster additional skills. In order to awaken your monster you will need Elemental essence which can only be obtained once per week…
I highly recommend you farm B2/B3 Halls of Elements everyday early game so you get to awakening your monster as quickly as possible.
Level up your angelmons to max level and then awaken them in order to get the best feeding result. It will take some time, but it’s worth it.
Energy
Your Arena Invitation and Energy gets a full refill every time you level up. If you are about to level up, but still have a lot of energy, go for the Secret Dungeons.
Arena Invitations
Don’t waste Arena invitations. They earn you valuable glory points, even if you lose the arena.
The refresh button on the Arena screen is available after waiting 2 minutes. If you don’t like any of the 10 available people, wait and use the refresh button.
Glory points can be used to purchase buildings, devilmons, and scrolls.
Mana Stones
Mana stones are hard to come by in early game. You priorities when spending them should be:
- Buy a Mystical Scroll from the shop so you have some mana in your stash
- Summoning Mystical Scrolls that you get. Don’t worry about unknown scrolls for awhile.
- Get your first good monster (Water Howl / Wind Yeti / Wind Pixie) from the shop. Any of one of these will make your life a lot easier.
- New buildings (except for Fusion Hexagram which you don’t need until late game)
- Level up your 1/2* runes to +3, and your 3/4* runes to +9
- Buying mobs from the shop for skill ups
- Buying mediocre 3/4* runes from the shop
The priorities will change when you reach mid game, but you will probably know what to do by then.
