We had a lot of Jack-o’-Lantern Hall of Heroes (HoH) in the past and most Summoners acquired them only to be kept inside their monster box. To put it into good use, Jack-o’-Lantern elements are viable monsters in the Necropolis Dungeon. While some are extremely lucky to have specific monsters that can flash farm the Necropolis, other summoners especially newer ones don’t have the variety of monsters to create a good and stable team composition. Well, the spirit of Halloween reminds us that Jack-o’-Lanterns can help us get through and progress ahead with the help of these pumpkin heads!
It is inevitable to compare and argue which is the best the Jack-o’-Lantern in the family, so we will break down the pros and cons of each element and rank them based on overall value and utility.

Fire Jack-o’-Lantern, SMOKEY
Pros: Multi-hit skills, 4 Debuff applications on the enemy
Cons: Low base stats, one-dimensional monster
With Smokey, you will be able to farm Necropolis B10 with ease. Its skill set is basically built for NB10 having multi-hit attacks. 1st skill hits the enemy 3 times, so it is important to put Revenge runes on him. 2nd skill hits 4 times, while 3rd skill hits 2 times. Smokey is also a decent attacker with that scales its damage from speed, just make sure that his HP is around 14k to avoid dying while in auto-mode. Also, it can apply 4 different debuffs (Slow, Glancing Hit, ATK decrease, and Unrecoverable) which are important during boss fights. Overall, if the main focus is to farm NB10, I will build this Jack-o’-Lantern over his other elemental counterparts
Rune Set: Violent / Revenge
Rune Main Stats:ATK% / CD% / ATK% or HP%
Jack-o’-Lantern Rank: T-2nd

Water Jack-o’-Lantern, CHILLING
Pros: Good in DB10 and NB10, Offensive PvP monster, Team buffer, Only needs a few skill-ups to max its levels.
Cons: Low base attack, an easy target for enemies with wind nuker
Chilling is a versatile Jack-o’-Lantern that can be used in Dragon’s Lair and Necropolis. One of its strongest assets is the consistent strip and basically counter immunity buff. Not to mention that the Slow debuff is extremely useful against boss battles and it has an elemental advantage over Dragon boss which will help Chilling survive direct hits. Even though this monster doesn’t have the same utility as he does in DB10, the slow and party buffs make him useful for starter teams. PvP wise, Chilling is a direct counter for buff reliant monsters like Theomars and Rakan. Just make sure to pair him with a monster that grants team protection since Chilling is a squishy monster.
Rune Set: Violent / Focus or Revenge
Rune Main Stats:SPD / ATK% or CD% / HP% or ATK%
Jack-o’-Lantern Rank: 1st

Wind Jack-o’-Lantern, WINDY
Pros: Highest base HP and DEF in its family
Cons: 3rd skill is barely useful
Windy is still a viable NB10 unit but not worth to 6* since it is an expendable unit in the long run. But for newbies, you can use him as you progress slowly from NB5 to NB10. Although Windy’s 3rd skill adds survivability, it requires being hit before it activates a 1-turn shield meaning you are still at risk of dying if a hard-hitting monster hits you first. Don’t bother building Windy if you have the element counterparts on your monster box, instead use him as a skill-up fodder.
Rune Set: Violent / Revenge or Energy
Rune Main Stats:SPD / HP% / HP% or ATK%
Jack-o’-Lantern Rank: 4th/Last

Light Jack-o’-Lantern, MISTY
Pros: Multi-hit skills, Immune to stun/freeze
Cons: Easily countered by oblivion, Minimal threat as an attack monster
With Misty’s stun/freeze immunity, this unit is a viable PvP offense monster — and by pairing him with buffers around him, Misty can deal a respectable amount of damage. Since its 1st and 2nd skills are multi-hit skills, Misty can also be used in Necropolis B10 as a nuker. Actually, Misty can deal more damage output than Smokey but the other has more debuff application and utility for a better clearance rate. As a rare LnD monster, Misty is expected to get buffed soon so make sure you keep at least 1 and not feed to its family counterpart.
Rune Set: Violent / Revenge
Rune Main Stats:SPD / CD% / ATK%
Jack-o’-Lantern Rank:T-2nd

Dark Jack-o’-Lantern, DUSKY
Pros: Highest ATK in its family, Easy to activate passive skill
Cons: Low base HP and DEF
Dusky is rather the easiest to rune for Necropolis B10 in the Jack-o’-Lantern family. It already has a high base ATK and its passive skill casts a 3-turn shield that ensures Dusky’s survival. Also while the shield is on, this monster gains 50% bonus attack damage, making your NB10 runs a little bit faster than with other Jack-o’-Lanterns. As a rare LnD monster, Dusky is expected to get a buff soon so make sure to keep at least one in your monster box. Outside NB10, Dusky can also be used in situational offensive PvPs.
