Hello Summoners!
The next Monster Balancing patch will be arriving soon. Check out the details below for information on which monsters got buffed.
Notable Changes and Clarifications on Descriptions
By far the most notable buff is to Chandra, the Water Beast Monk / Rahul, the Dark Beast Monk. A 100% chance to counter is deadly, especially since both of them have great debuffs on their 1st Skill. Any monster that attacks a defended target will now either get a potential stun or branding punch right back from Chandra and Rahul respectively. Overall, the Beast Monks seems to have gotten the best deal for this patch.
Another interesting change is to Vanessa, the Fire Valkyrja. However, there are lots of confusion over whether the “fatal damage” in the skill description refers to herself or to any ally. If it’s the latter, she might prove to be much more useful. Teams attacking her on offense will have to be wary of Vanessa reviving a threat that can stun or take out one of your monsters. We’ll have to wait and see how this skill works before giving further judgment.
Both Shi Hou, the Water Monkey King & Korona, the Dark Brownie Magician have received mechanical changes to their 3rd skills, having a potential chance to strip beneficial effects now. The viability of this will be based on whether there will be an increase in success rate upon skill ups, especially for Shi Hou.
Several Light monsters have also received some changes to their passives. Lucas, the Light Neostone Fighter, Halphas, the Light Lich & Dova, the Light Harq all have some form of buff to their skill. It remains to be seen how they’ll impact the meta, but at the very least, ToA Halphas Boss stage is going to get a bit more tricky.
Conclusion
A rather disappointing balancing patch considering how few monsters were changed this time round. Hopefully owners of some of the monsters here will be pleased with the changes. For others, better luck next time!
