Skill 3: King of the Dead (Passive): Decreases the inflicted damage from all attributes by 50% but the recovery amount you recieve is also decreased by 50%. The attack power increases by 30% when an ally or enemy dies. Accumulates up to 5 times. (Automatic Effect)

- GB10 – (Rating: 7/10) Thanks to his passive, he can survive a good while here. He’s an excellent monster for players transitioning from a safe team to a more damage-oriented one without risking too much survivability.
- DB10 – (Rating: 6.5/10) Likewise, he’s a good starter for DB10 thanks to his great survivability and damage. That said, he won’t be hitting as much against the boss unless you’re still doing a tower team, so just be careful! As a plus, pairing him up with revivers for newer players will allow a consistent increase in his damage, especially if your units are getting killed by the Dragon’s revenge after killing the towers.
- NB10 – (Rating: 9.5/10) Despite having a lower base attack than Fuco or Rigel, Grego’s arguably the best Lich and one of the top damage dealer in the game for NB10. His insane multipliers and powerful passive allows him to put out an insane amount of damage while easily surviving all of the trash waves. He can rapidly knock down the Necro boss’ HP with his 2nd Skill while landing some useful debuffs here. Build him on Violent here and just watch him shine.
(Rating: 7/10) A pretty hard hitting fodder farmer for either Tamor Desert or Faimon Hell. It’s very difficult for the monsters there to take him down, while his damage will continue to increase after every death, be it your own food or the enemy monsters. However, due to his low damage at the start, he isn’t suitable as a fodder farmer once you get better options.
- R5 – (Rating: 7.5/10) Both his debuffs are great for raids, while the single-target nature of the fight is just advantageous for Grego’s 2nd Skill. With his tanky stats, he can be placed on the frontlines to tank out a good amount of hits, just be careful that your heals can sustain him. If you want to capitalise on his passive’s attack increase though, just make sure you have a reviver in your party.
- Element Rift Beasts – (Rating: 7/10) All of the Deadly Touch Liches are excellent for the Elemental Beasts. That being said, it can be argued that Fuco and Rigel will do a better job here due to their better base attack and more practical passives here. You don’t really want to rely on your monsters dying to maximize your damage output.
(Rating: 6.5/10) He can do a good amount on damage against boss stages after taking down their minions. He can also be considered as a niche pick against the Artamiel stage, since all the Light monsters will be focusing on him (and it’s really hard for him to die if you have some decent support). Overall though, he isn’t something you want to use in the long run.
(Rating: 8.5/10) Grego has always been a niche pick in PvP. His kit only excels in prolonged fights, and counters like Tesarion makes his passive pretty useless. However, the introduction of Siege Battles have made him one of the best monsters you can have. Alongside his Light brother Halphas, the L&D Lich duo have made storms in PvP due to the difficulty in countering their passives in the 4* Siege Towers. Pair him up with a Khmun, Racuni or Chasun and you have yourself an extremely potent team. His self-sufficient defense breaks does a great amount of damage, and his 50% damage reduction in his passive makes it super difficult for 4* monsters to take him down. He does an amazing job in any 4* Siege Towers, but he can also be a good situational pick in standard Guild Wars & World Arena too.
How to Counter:
The traditional means of taking Grego down is using Tesarion & his trusty oblivion. However, that isn’t something you can rely on in 4* Siege Towers. Your best options after that is to use strong, heavy hitting nukers to quickly take him or his allies down. This includes 3* damage beasts like Bulldozer, Kahli & Copper. While it seems counter-intuitive to leave him last, considering his passive, it’s perfectly fine to target the enemy Chasun or Khmun first to take out the attack buff or shield respectively. He doesn’t hit that hard without a defense break & attack buff, so you can give yourself some time before focusing him down.
- The best build for him is a hybrid set. Get a decent amount of HP to maximize his passive’s innate tankiness, while still having a good amount of attack so that he isn’t a sitting tank.
- Some accuracy is recommended for his debuffs. At the very least, you should have 45% for NB10 and >60% for PvP usage
- While HP% is the best for him due to his great base HP, you shouldn’t neglect his defenses either.
Grego is one of the hardest monsters to counter in Siege Towers due to the limited number of counters against him. This is especially so since pretty much every player will pair him up with Khmun. This duo works crazy well together, since Grego’s damage reduction will also take into consideration Khmun’s shield. Pretty much any set will work on Grego, but Vampire & Violent are the more popular ones found in PvP. He’s an amazing Dark tank and damage dealer wrapped in a single package and is definitely worth investing some good quality runes on him.

- Deadly Touch – The skill has been changed so that it does not erase the Attack Speed reduction effects that are on enemies which are immune to freeze or stun effects.
