Dungeons: A good monster for NB10, all of Zibrolta’s skills have at least 3 hits, making him a powerful shield breaker for almost any team. His multiple DoTs also allows him to substantially knock down the boss’ health as well as dealing a good amount of damage against the Mini-Boss Grego. That being said, it can be difficult to use him over other more well-known NB10 nukers due to the lack of any true debuffs.
Monsters like Fuco and Rigel offer powerful passives and much more usable debuffs in the form of Attack Speed Slow and Defense Break, while Shihwa offers a turn-reset on her 2nd Skill as well as a powerful branding on her 3rd. The lack of debuffs apart from DoTs makes Zibrolta’s usage limited, and it doesn’t help that he’s near useless everywhere else. He works fine if you’re lacking other options, but you’ll definitely want to replace him when you get better monsters.
Raids: Unfortunately for Zibrolta, the Raid Boss just doesn’t have the same love for DoTs as the NB10 boss does. Zibrolta offers practically zero debuffs, and his squishiness just makes him unreliable at best. If you’re looking for monsters that have the same harmful attack increase like him, consider better options like Ardella instead.
ToA: Zibrolta’s 2nd Skill only has a 25% chance of landing a DoT, while his Meteor Bomb will only land 4 DoTs in total, spread out across multiple enemies. Like the other areas of the game, he gets outshined by other more consistent DoT monsters like Baretta, Thrain and Hemos.
PvP: The Fire Kobold Bomber functions pretty similarly to any other AoE fire nuker. The only difference is that you can’t control his 3rd Skill at all, making it very unreliable in PvP. While he does offer a good base attack and somewhat decent multipliers, there are much better options out there.
How to Counter
Unlike the other Kobold Bombers, Zibrolta’s very easy to counter due to the lack of actual bombs. His attacks are all random, making it rare for him to dish out any good amount of damage if he’s in a defense. Since he’s a pretty squishy monster, just about any non-Wind nuker can take him out in a hit or two. Don’t worry too much about him, focus on his allies instead.
- If you really want to build him for NB10, there’s two ways. You either make him your fastest monster to be your shield breaker, or your slowest monster to be a DoT monster. Both ways work, but the former definitely works out better for him
- Since he’s only ever going to be used in NB10, if at all, speed isn’t that important. Focus your stats on his attack and HP instead
While you can build Zibrolta, like many monsters, he suffers from the fact that he gets outclassed by just as obtainable counterparts in virtually every part of the game. He won’t perform as well in NB10 beyond starter teams, so there isn’t anybody who uses Zibrolta in the long-term. Honestly, just don’t waste your resources building him.
