Site Review
Dungeons: Baretta can be surprisingly useful for your starting DB10 team. It is recommended for him to be built on despair so that his DoTs can not only kill the crystals faster, but reduce the likelihood of a rogue monster wiping out one of your team monsters too. His universal leader skill also proves useful here and is a great choice for your team until you summon Verdehile.
Raids: Completely out of the question. Baretta serves little use in any raids team. Even his leader skill is unnecessary, as you will likely need tankier ones such as defense and resistance leaders if you are even considering using him at this point of the game.
ToA: Baretta isn’t known as the king of ToA without a reason. Assuming he is able to land all his DoTs, he is able to effectively eliminate 30% of the enemy’s HP from the get go! While buffs to the taoist family and Mav has made people consider using alternatives, he remains a very indispensable part of many teams. For late-game players that have phased him out, he is still often used in the infamous Ragdoll (ToA93) and Leo (ToA99) stages.
PvP: Baretta only useful role in PvP content is his rare 19% speed leader skill. He can be used for your starting wombo teams with Akhamamir, but his uses remain limited beyond that. Once you get a better arena speed leader such as Izaria or Shimitae, his usage in your wombo team will drop even further.
Other advice:
- Recommended to be built HP% instead of DEF% since he has a better base HP than base DEF
- Try to limit his crit rate as low as you can. As an AoE attacker, he may very well kill himself or cause a team wipe if he constantly crits against Ragdolls or counter-damagers such as Jultan and Camules.
- Baretta doesn’t really need changes from the time you first build him. You can choose to leave Baretta on Despair forever or choose to re-rune him on Violent to increase the number of DoTs. Both options are equally effective.
- Don’t compare him to Hemos or Thrain. Instead, you can choose to run both Baretta and one of the above mentioned grim reapers to increase the clear speed of your ToAH teams
- Baretta pairs very well with Mav. Assuming that both are fully skilled, you can effectively control the attack bar of any boss in ToA.
