ToA: (Not Recommended) Several farmable units outshines her.

PvP: (Rating: 8/10) Helena is a great tank in PVP. Its passive skill on Creature form mitigates damage from anti elements making it a good bruiser. Additionally, Helena can be a nuker when it transforms into human form (converts 50% max HP to attack power). Has stun, AOE def break, ATB absorption which is important for crowd control, and also self ATB boost when landing critical hits. Its base HP is high its easy to get additional HP from stats and grindstones. Prioritize DEF and a little bit of accuracy to land the debuffs on enemy. No need to allocate ATK stats because his creature form deals damage and shield based on max HP and when it transforms to human form, HP is converted to ATK power.

How to Counter

Unlike its element counterparts, Helena does not have spell immunity buff which means it is in danger against debuffer teams especially def break. Its base DEF is low for a nat5 standard and neutral element nukers can deal a fatal blow. Resistance is very important for this unit so it can continue to tank and shield the whole team.

Other advice:

  • Prioritize HP, SPD and Resistance to fulfill its basic roles. SPD to keep up with turns and Resist to compensate lack of immunity. That being said, when you use Helena in your team it is also advisable to bring a utility unit that casts immunity buff.
  • Use Helena as bruiser against water elements (Theomars, Psamathe, etc.), with high HP and damage mitigation you are decreasing the threat for your whole team. Make it speedy so it can constantly cast shield buff to protect your low HP nukers.

Editor’s Note

Helena is recommended to build once you reach end-game scenario (PVP contents). It is pretty much pointless to build it early game because she is not recommended to use in dungeons and gives little progress. However, come end-game this unit shines on PVP as a tank/shield buffer/sub-attacker perfect for Conqueror-Guardian level Arena. This unit is worth feeding Devilmons since shield becomes a 3-turn cooldown skill when maxed.
