Site Review

  • GB10 – (Rating: 7/10) A great GB10 monster, but only if you’re a new player. Molly’s passive glancing and ability to strip the attack buff from the boss is amazing for starting teams. However, the lack of damage and team-wide protection makes her falls off later on. There’s no reason to use her here after that.
  • DB10 – (Rating: 7/10) Again, a perfect monster for early DB10 teams. You can use her as a back-up cleanser and healer for your teams and as an immunity stripper against the boss. Don’t expect your runs to be fast though.
  • NB10 – Not recommended

(Rating 6/10) Reliable? Yes. Slow? Even more so! Don’t bother using her unless you want to extend your Scenario runs to be longer than your dungeon teams.

  • R5 – Not recommended
  • Element Rift Beasts – Not recommended. She’s not effective in all of the different Rifts, there’s just no purpose she’s good at that’s better than other more obtainable monsters.

(Rating 6/10) Situationally useful as a single-target cleanser, but monsters like Veromos, Mav and even Racuni will do a far better job than her. The protective glancing isn’t enough for her to be relevant.

(Rating: 9.5/10) Arguably one of the most annoying monsters to fight against in PvP Defense, Molly’s the bane of cleave teams in both Arena and Guild Wars. The presence of a single Molly (well, not like there’ll be more) is enough to deter burst damage nukers like Copper and Bulldozers, since an unlucky 20% glancing can easily spell an end to your fight. Molly’s somehow crazy innate chance of proccing heals with Violents works wonders in bringing up your team from the brink of death, and her shield does an excellent job in taking a hit for your nukers. Offense-wise, she’s a great counter to monsters like Zaiross, since her heal and short cooldowns makes her resistant to his AoE resets. Pair her up with bruiser monsters against more heavy-hitting comps and they’ll do just fine.

Her smart AI also allows for great protection in your Arena and Guild War Defenses, where she’ll always shield up an ally when they’re low on health or when they have a defense break on them. You can use her in almost any team compositions for PvP. Tanky bruiserish teams will benefit from even greater beefiness, while your nuking comps will be able to survive a tad bit longer to neutralize an enemy threat. All in all, she’s a wonderful addition to any team.

How to Counter:

The safest and most reliable way to counter Molly is to use your trusty-old Tesarion, which nullifies both the glancing passive and heal. However, Molly should not be your first target to take down. Instead, once an oblivion lands on her, you should direct your attention to whatever threat there is on the team instead. As a non-revive supportive monster, there’s no way a Molly will be able to turn the tides once her allies are down. If you’re lacking oblivion, the same rule applies, you just have to hope for that 80% non-glancing rate against the nukers. One-hit nukes, while counter-intuitive, also works great against Molly, since her passive will obviously not kick in if she’s dead. Taking a risk to take her down at the start of the match can give you the breathing room you need to focus on the other targets.

Other advice:
  • Stats that you should prioritize for Molly includes HP, Defense, Speed and Resistance. You can choose to get some Crit Rate and Accuracy after that so that her 1st Skill can be much more annoying
  • Make sure to get a good amount of speed on her. The most speed she has, the more heals she’ll be able to give to your team.
  • Her best teammates in Arena Defense are stall monsters like Rina, Praha and Hwadam.
Editor’s Note:

Molly definitely deserves her praises as one of the best Light & Dark 4* Monsters in the game. She’s a wonderful addition to many teams, and can be used in virtually all PvP content. Skillups also isn’t that big of a priority for her, since the only notable change is a 1-turn cooldown reduction on her 2nd Skill, but it’s good nonetheless. With amazing base stats, a unique passive and an all-around annoyance to your opponents, this Light Mermaid is something you definitely want in your possession.
