Site Review

Dungeons: One of the first things you’ll notice is that Eredas has an excellent 24% speed leader skill in dungeons, which is second only to Verdehile’s 28%. If you don’t have a Natural 5* monster like Seara or Chiwu, this means he’s one of the most accessible leaders you can get here! Besides that, Eredas offers powerful crowd control capabilities, with double AoEs and a very high chance of stunning and absorbing ATB on his 3rd. While Despair seems counter-productive, it makes him even better of a CC monster. You can use him as a support for early-game players, or as a safe AoE nuker for players past that stage. If you already have a reliable team in GB10 or DB10 though, don’t bother building him here.

Raids: Like other crowd-controllers, Eredas is pretty useless for raids. He’s only able to offer a 50% glancing rate when maxed on a 4-turn cooldown, so that itself isn’t really reliable.

ToA: Eredas is a powerful stunner and CC unit for ToA due to the double AoEs he has. While he doesn’t have the same reliability as Tyron, his light element does mean that he can stun Wind monsters much easier than the Water Sylph. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have anything else that can be considered unique, with other monsters offering better attack bar reductions or more debuffs. You won’t expect anything from Eredas beyond a stun, so if you already got that going for you in ToA, he isn’t needed here.

PvP: Eredas functions as a typical light AoE nuker for PvP uses. He does a decent amount of damage thanks to his strong 440% multiplier on his 3rd, but is greatly held back by his poor base attack and low multipliers on his other skills. If you choose to use him, it’s really up to you on how you want to build him here. Nuker builds are better if you need a stunner / damage hybrid, while support allows him to survive long enough to potentially get his 3rd Skill off again.

How to Counter

Will runes prevail against crowd controllers like Eredas. If not, a fast immunity buffer like Draco or Chloe will do fine too. There aren’t a lot of Eredas used in defense, so any that you do see can be difficult to tell whether it’s a nuker or support. If you’re unsure, just go target the enemy’s other nukers or set-up monsters like Galleon. Even with his good multiplier, his 3rd Skill won’t hit hard without attack buffs and defense breaks.

Other advice:

  • Even on Despair builds, accuracy is important for his 3rd Skill’s stuns to land. Aim for around 60% accuracy to be usable in any PvP Offense team

Editor’s Note

Eredas is a pretty interesting monster. He’s the only Sylph in the family that gets a stat awakening bonus, and the only one that’s HP based (Surprisingly, the rest are all Attack Types). I personally feel he functions better as a supportive monster due to his great base HP and low base attack. Honestly, if Dias wasn’t present, I’d say he’d be my next pick for a HoH monster. He’s a great stunner for sure, but I don’t think many players will be able to use him effectively.

Summary

A good stunner, but doesn’t have any utility beyond that. Build him for fun if you want, but he isn’t really that practical.
