Site Review
Dungeons: Fedora’s an excellent water cleanser for starting DB10 teams, with good supportive stats and a water element advantage making him very tanky against the Mini-Boss and Boss. Besides that, his 3rd Skill is very rare in the sense that it’s the only skill that offers an AoE endure buff for your team (Apart from Illianna). This can come in super handily in situations that may have led up to a wipe. Not only that, his 2nd Skill does a decent amount of damage thanks to the HP-scaling, and the attack break and defense break is always a plus.
However, while Fedora is definitely a lot safer than other cleansers like Veromos, he doesn’t have the best of crowd control or damage. He’ll do just fine when you’re forming your starting DB10 team, but he should be one of the first monsters you replace as you improve your speed times.
Raids: A great frontline tank with three useful debuffs, Fedora seems like an excellent addition to any raids team. However, unlike other notable 4* cleansers like Delphoi and Lisa, Fedora’s Decline has a longer cooldown by 1-turn. This may not seem like much, but in the long run, this can hurt some teams. His endure buff, while useful, will often be removed by the boss, so it’s not nearly as useful as it is in other places like PvP or DB10.
An additional issue is the presence of the vastly superior Dias and to an extent, Briand. Both of those monsters are very skillup hungry and have more uses over Fedora in other parts of the game, making it difficult to obtain the necessary skillups needed to feed to Fedora. Regardless though, Fedora’s still a welcome addition to most raids team if you don’t have any other cleanser.
ToA: Fedora’s uses are limited here largely due to Veromos. His attacks are all single-target, making him ineffective as a crowd controller or attack power debuffer. Your teams in ToA should also be going circles around the enemy, making the endure buff effectively useless except for key situations. Overall, however, it does not warrant a use for him here.
PvP: In PvP, he works as a great staller in defense due to the endure buff he can provide, allowing your team to survive any hit for a single-turn. His multiple debuffs are also great in causing issues to the enemy, which is supported by his awakening bonus to increase his chances of landing them. He works best when paired with other tanky monsters like Chasun, Eladriel and Ariel, where lucky stalls and Violent procs may help the team secure a win.
Alternatively, you can run him as a super speedy monster to make sure he gets his 3rd Skill off. The AI’s pretty smart, so more often than not, the endure and immunity buff will be granted to your monsters. This can put a stop to any nukers, especially if there’s strong healers to recover from their damage.
How to Counter
Strippers works just as well on Fedora as with any other immunity buffers. All of Fedora’s attacks are single-target, so as long as your squishy monsters aren’t in his line of sight, you shouldn’t have any worries of his attacks going to anywhere near your Wind monsters. His damage, while decent, isn’t spectacular either, so you don’t necessarily need a full-on tank for his damage. Just use a stripper to remove the buffs he provide and single out the enemy’s main nuking threat.
Other advice:
- With a better base defense than HP, you can always use DEF% runes on his main rune slots instead of HP% for Raids. PvP wise though, HP% would be a lot more ideal.
- Speed is very important for his usability. Stack as much as you can on him. He’s a cleanser first and a water tank second
Editor’s Note
While a good monster in his own right, Fedora is largely overshadowed by other cleansers and Death Knights due to their more prominent and effective skill sets. Both Dias and Briand can do a better job than Fedora in Raids and PvP respectively. The entire Death Knight family are pretty skillup hungry too, so your skillups should go towards those two first rather than Fedora.
