Site Review

Dungeons: Susano’s kit pretty much makes him a standard water nuker for DB10. With a powerful 2nd Skill multiplier (on a very short cooldown), he does a great amount of damage on whoever he’s targeting. His 1st Skill’s DoTs also allows him to deal an effective amount of damage if you’re focusing on a tower team, which definitely speeds up the run. Furthermore, despite his poor supportive stats, the extra 50% resistance from his passive does help reduce the damage on him at the boss stage (DoTs) and allow him to have a bit more survivability . That being said, the resistance isn’t something you can reliably count on, so you still have to do your best in quickly killing the enemy. As a bonus, his 2nd Skill definitely benefits greatly from speed leaders, so he synergizes pretty well with monsters like Verdehile too.

  • Susano’s also a great Faimon Hell farmer if you’re in need of one. If built on Vampire, he can easily survive the waves due to the passive, while his high damage helps him to quickly get back some of his health.

Raids: Like the rest of the Ninjas, there is little reason to use Susano in your raids team. The ineffectiveness of DoTs and other beneficial debuffs makes him an incredibly ineffective choice here.

ToA: While he can definitely be used in ToA, Susano doesn’t bring anything unique to the table. The lack of any AoE attacks makes him ineffective as a CC monster, while his attacks can be found in plenty of other monsters. Unless you’re pressed for an attacker here, there is unlikely little use for the Water Ninja here.

PvP: By far Susano’s best usage in PvP is his leader skill. For those who do not have Psamathe, Vanessa or Trinity, Susano’s definitely the next best thing for your Orions and Megans. Susano’s amazing damage on his 2nd Skill allows him to function as a great single-target nuker like Taor. If you have a Leo, you can also rune Susano as a standard attacker while ensuring your attack bar booster to get the first turn off.

In Siege Battles, Susano is a force to be reckon with in 4* Siege Towers. A rapidly increasing team found in Siege Tower Defenses is a Susano (L), Orion, Garo comp. This team can be extremely hard to kill if you’re lacking the proper monsters. With a 30% speed leader boost, which is the highest among 4* monsters, there’s a very good chance of Orion to get the first turn off. Vampire builds on Susano and Garo allows strong sustain, while taking advantage of their powerful 2nd Skill multipliers and hard-to-kill passives.

How to Counter

Despite all of Susano’s sustainable 3rd Skill, his base stats have little to hide. You can deal with Susano the same way as most other squishy water nukers. Most attacks can still kill him off, even if your attacks do not land a crit on him. If you’re really having issues, Tesarion’s oblivion can make his passive ineffective, although you do have to be careful of Susano’s 2nd Skill killing Tesarion off.

Other advice:

  • Speed is definitely useful for Susano, as it allows him to speed-tune to your speed boosters without losing any notable damage
  • As his 2nd Skill scales of speed more so than attack, you should definitely prioritize crit damage more than attack

Editor’s Note

Susano shares many similarities with Taor, with the same base attack, DoTs on 1st Skill and decent speed-scaling attack on their 2nd. However, given the same stats, Taor obviously still outshines Susano, with better multipliers and overall bulkiness. Regardless, Susano still offers a great leader skill to fill in the role of your team’s attack bar booster. For newer players, he’s definitely worth considering if you’re in need of a water attacker in any area of the game. For late-game players, he’s an amazing monster for 4* Siege Towers and is sure worth the investments for that. The Susano (L), Orion & Garo team is one of the best teams you can make, and they’re all relatively farmable to boot!
