Site Review

Dungeons: A viable option for DB10, Julie’s kit is amazing for any team barring completely new ones. Her 1st Skill has a decent chance of stripping the final boss’ immunity if you’re going for a face team, while her 2nd Skill’s freeze and 3rd Skill’s powerful damage makes good work of the trash waves. However, she heavily requires a monster like Galleon in order to do well, since she won’t hit nearly as hard without a reliable AoE armor breaker or attack buffer. If you’re lacking a healer, Julie’s 3rd Skill won’t be as reliable due to the condition placed on it, so you need to make sure that your team is fast enough to kill the waves before they get a turn off.

Raids: Julie’s lack of debuffs and strong single-target skills makes her a poor choice for raids. You’ll almost never have the opportunity to fully utilize her 3rd Skill too since you need her to be a full health. Don’t use her here, she’s really bad.

ToA: The only time you’ll be using Julie here is as a standard Water AoE nuker for speed ToAN teams. While she does offer a good freeze on her 2nd, plenty of other monsters have AoE attacks that are just as reliable. Beyond speed teams, there’s little reason to use Julie over any other staple ToA monster.

PvP: For most players, this is arguably the only place they’ll be using Julie. She has one of the best AoE multipliers in the game. And with a good base attack, she hits REALLY hard assuming you’re able to get a attack buff / defense break combo off. A well-runed Julie can easily hit close to 40k AoE on her own.

For late-game players, she’s also great as a softener against Nemesis comps, since her multi-hits will knock a good amount of hp from most Nemesis-prime targets like Praha and Ariel without triggering the effect (Fun fact: Nemesis triggers by a per hit basis). This works wonders against certain comps where you know your Double Lushen won’t be able to take out the enemy.

How to Counter

Julie’s pretty much a PvP Offense monster due to her overall squishiness. If you do chance upon one in defense, it’s either a troll defense or you’re very early game. As mentioned though, Julie does nothing without a defense break or attack buff. Depending on how things turn out, you can either target the enemy’s defense breaker / attack buffer, or Julie herself with any non-fire nuker. Just get some Will runes, a fast Chloe or a fast attack bar booster and you’re golden.

Other advice:

  • Speed is essential for Julie in higher-level arena. Most players opt for a slot 2 speed, which while gimps her damage, ensures she gets the turn off to trigger Nemesis healers
  • Most players will also go for a Despair build to further increase their chances of stopping threats (since she’s prime to go first)

Editor’s Note

Julie’s a fun monster to play with, largely due to the amazing numbers you can see even if she’s on a speed built. She’s a powerful AoE nuker for early game players and a key set-up-ish monster for late-game arena. A worthwhile monster to have, she’s arguably the best among the Pierrets, with the only possible contender being Luna, which is superior to her for DB10 speed teams. If you have her, I definitely recommend building one.

One of the best AoE water nukers in the game, a good monster to build for both early and end-game players.
