Dungeons: Woosa could be utilized in GB10 and DB10 as a support role but there are probably better options out there due to her lack of damage output. But three turn Immunity, Shield, and Heals should work adequetly with proficient runes. But for those chasing for faster clear times, the slow attack animations may slow you down.
Raids: Woosa is viable in raids but also not considered the most adept as a support role due to substandard healing.
ToA: Woosa is great in ToA, with a great three-turn immunity and shield for your allies. However, he has substandard healing and damage, so while he makes your run safer, it will not increase the speed time.
PvP: Woosa shines in PVP and is not to be taken lightly. “Wish of Immortality” is exactly as advertised as the shield component, which scales off his own Max HP, is a competent 3-turn damage absorption buff coupled together with Immunity. Though there are those that prefer to rune him with Violent runes, it can also be argued that this could potentially proc Woosa out of h own protective buffs in exchange for faster cooldown upkeep for the rest of your team. This is fine as long as you have the defensive stats to keep him alive.
Another viable build would be to incorporate exceptional swift runes that would complement the high base speed to ensure that Woosa either gets first turn and also to move swiftly throughout the match. All of Woosa’s skills and especially the shield component is dependent upon Woosa’s Max HP and thus it is only logical to make the connection to stack his with as much HP as possible while maintaining respectable Speed, Defense, and Accuracy sub stats. Accuracy is only useful for his first skill which would otherwise do nothing other than low damage. A successful two-turn sleep can complete Woosa’s role of being a full support and can be a crucial crowd control mechanic by shutting down one of the oppositions monsters.
One thing to keep in mind, is that the heal component of the second skill is one of the weaker heals in the game which isn’t suitable for healing high HP monsters due to its scaling off exact HP numbers rather than percentage base. However, for certain team compositions and coupled with the protective buffs of his shield and immunity, this is usually a tandem that can sustain your group. Defense based units will take more advantage from both the shield and heals with their inherently lower Max HP.
Compared to Velajuels “Sanctuary”, Woosa’s third skill isn’t quite as effective in comparison. Sanctuary provides three-turn immunity, attack bar gauge increase, and removes all harmful effects; all the while being viable on Violent Runes as this is on a six-turn cooldown. Though both skills are inherently different, Woosa’s Wish of Immortality has the advantage of being on a five-turn cool down.
A great pairing for Woosa is with monsters like Verad where the CC abilities would help with Immunity upkeep and with the shield protecting him as a Defense based monster.
How to Counter
To counter any defense with Woosa, bring buff strippers to nullify Wish of Immortality.
- Mostly rune for defensive stats including Resistance and Defense. Will runes are an option, but if you are planning to get first turn, the one turn Immunity becomes only useful for a slower speed Woosa. Aim for 40K HP, 280 Spd, 1000 Defense, and at least 50 accuracy.
Good unit for TOA Hard for certain levels that require immunity. And with good CC units to help, immunity might never fall off. Great to be paired up with Anavel and Verad.
