Notable Changes and Clarifications on Descriptions
Two rare Natural 5 Dark Monsters: Nyx, the Dark Fairy King and Wolyung, the Dark Sky Dancer, both got a respectable buff to their skill sets, making them much more usable and practical in-game. Nyx’s passive means he’ll be a great counter to both Galleons and bombers in Arena or Guild War Defense, since there’s now a constant 20% chance for their debuffs to fail in landing. Wolyung also becomes much more practical since her 3rd Skill is now a powerful ignore-defense skill, which is likely strong enough to one-shot nearly any monster in the game without defense break!
Pungbaek, the Wind Pioneer, may also get an incredible defense-ignoring buff! The translation may not be accurate, so it’s difficult to judge this until the balancing patch arrives in-game. However, if the current wording is correct, it’s safe to assume that the “half of the damage inflicted to the rest of the enemy” is defense-ignoring damage a la Mo Long or Arnold’s 3rd Skill. If it is, this makes Pungbaek a powerful, relevant monster that can be used in-place of Lushen. We’ll have to wait for this to be confirmed, but this is definitely a great buff if it’s true.
Hrungnir, the Dark Barbaric King, received a major boost to the capabilities of his 3rd Skill. The chance of getting another turn after using it has been increased from 25% to 40%! Without a diminishing effect like standard Violent procs, he can become extremely potent with it.
Both Chandra, the Water Beast Monk, and Rahul, the Dark Beast Monk, now has an in-built Violent reset like Seara too. While the defend buff still isn’t that big of a deal, this greatly increases their damage output and vastly increases their usefulness on Violent rune sets.
The entire Succubus family got a buff to all of their skills. All of the skill will not wake the enemy up from attacks anymore. This makes them an excellent pairing with AoE sleepers like Aschubel, Sonnet and Hathor.
Among the five Succubus, the largest change are for Akia, the Fire Succubus, and Isael, the Dark Succubus. They makes their kit as a stripper / defense breaker and stunner like Gemini. If the success rate of this is 100%, this makes them a more powerful version of Gemini and can be extremely viable in PvP teams! We can only wait for the impact they will have, but we imagine that it’ll be huge.
As for nerfs, Camilla, the Water Valkyrja, has finally been fixed. Before, attacks with long delays between consecutive hits like Beth’s 3rd Skill will have the debuffs remove before the next attack gets the move off. This makes Camilla much easier to take down and buffs the usability of plenty of multi-hitters in the game.
While we understand that the balancing patch isn’t as good as what people have hoped, they are monster changes nonetheless. Hopefully your favorite Daphnis, Brandia, Shi Hou and more will get buffed in the next balancing patch! Thanks a lot for reading.
