Site Review
Dungeons: The only place you can consider using Aquila is in GB10, where his element advantage may come in useful in helping him survive. However, his kit is overshadowed by monsters like Megan and Shannon, who offers more utility and debuffs in their skills. As for his buff remove, the AoE debuff is pretty much useless, especially if you’re already using Megan or Belladeon as a single-target buff remove for the boss’ attack buff. Overall, there simply isn’t a need for you to use Aquila here, especially with so many better alternatives.
Raids: With no buff to remove, attack buff that is already provided by Chasun and Colleen and a 1st Skill that can cause more harm than good, you’re more likely to get kicked out of a public raids team if you try to use Aquila here.
ToA: Aquila can be a decent choice as a CC monster and attack buffer in ToAN if built on Despair. While his AoE strip will likely only come into play if you come across a Chloe or Camules team, his 2nd Skill’s buffs can help speed up your run times and lower your crit rate requirements on your monsters. However, once you get a better monster like Galleon, there isn’t much of a reason to use him.
PvP: This is the best and most likely place you’ll be using him. Aquila, Soha and to an extent, Gemini, are the only 4* monsters and below that offers a rare AoE buff remove. Like the others, Aquila is typically runed Despair due to the additional chance of stunning the enemy AFTER the Will runes are stripped. Aquila also offers much more utility than the others, with a team attack buff and crit rate buff which can be pretty handy. While his 1st Skill doesn’t synergizes with his kit as much as the other Brownie Magicians, the Violent-Despair hybrid can lead to some crutch moments when you use him.
While you can choose to run him as an attacker build to take advantage of the attack buff and his Attack Type, he definitely offers far more utility as a support.
How to Counter
As with other strippers, any Aquila on defense is best countered by outspeeding the enemy. Most Aquilas are built tanky, so you should definitely prioritize taking out the enemy nukers first and save the trouble trying to kill him.
Other advice:
- Strive for 85% accuracy on him for optimal performance
- Speed-tuning is especially important on monsters like Aquila. While he should definitely be faster than your nukers, he only needs to be a couple speed higher. The greater the disparity between his speed and your other nukers, the higher the chance of enemy monsters such as Chloe cutting in between them.
Editor’s Note
You’re likely to use Aquila as a replacement of Sieq as you progressed in the game. The combination of an attack and crit rate buff is pretty rare to come by, with the only other readily available monster offering this is Qebehsenuef. Aquila’s definitely much more support-focused than Soha too, with all around better supportive stats and utility. Simply put, go for Aquila if you only need a AoE buff remover for PvP or Soha if you’re also in need of a good fodder farmer.
Scepter
- Rare AoE buff remover
- AoE attack and crit rate buff
- Decent all around base stats
- Decent base speed of 106
- AoE buff remove does not offer any other utility
- Unnecessary Attack Type which hurts his other base stats
Unique and powerful aoe purge.
Useful buff.
Pretty fast?
Mediocre stats
Lackluster Ratios
High Cooldowns
Really pretty mediocre. His AOE purge is pretty awesome, but it has a high cool down and mediocre damage. His buff is kinda nice, but Sieq has the same buff with increased duration, and significantly better speed/attack stat (which is where Aquila really falls flat). He doesn’t have the stats to be a reliable damage dealer, or reliably stay alive until his turn comes around. The minor nerf of capping the number of consecutive rolls he can score sealed the deal for me. He’s just not very good.
I might take him in arena/guild to specifically counter certain buff comps, but even then its an expensive slot to waste on this cute lil guy.
With Strategy, can be a strong mons, but If you don’t control him, is a pool mons.
Use against Chloe, Rina, Captain, etc.. to break the enemy buffs.
what are good monster combinations with him?
Combine this with Cloë, Seara and another bomber to make a uber teamhttps://summonerswar.co/wind-brownie-magician-aquila/?replytocom=27755#respond
Really good support overall
It doesn't have a lot of attack power like in wanted it to have
This monster is a beast!!!
It is unstopable with violent/energy hp% and if you want it has some pontetial with att%
Good in arena and TOA
Takes ALL buffs of, not one.. freaking ALL. shields, buffs, immunities, counteratacks, crit rate he. takes it ALL
To choose how you want build him. (swift/blade) spd/crtdmg/atlk% also works excellent. But he can be despair (stunner-debuffer), violent (another one I like on him) so much "poingpoing"
Sit back enjoy, give a big smile to Chloe. Is amazing to have this against her. Just wait. woot woot.. bye bye immunity. Peew Peew.dead Chloe
